Just back from Bernie's show at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica tonight.  You gotta love a show that seats about 200 in the back of a guitar store.  Talk about not a bad seat in the house!

 

Bernie played a variety of electric guitars, with bass, drums, and a acoustic guitar/mandolin/fiddle/backup singer.

 

Bernie did 20 songs, about 1 3/4 hrs. 9 from Mirror, 8 new songs, 2 Eagles tunes, "My Man" and "Bittercreek", big thrills for me to hear him do them.  As Bernie was playing "stump the band" the set list evolves from night-to-night and depending on his mood.  Saw the set list and it looks like he has been doing "Hollywood Waltz" during some sets, it was on tonight's list but not performed.

 

Fans got to meet Bernie afterward, dummy me left my Mirror CD in his car, so shook his hand and mumbled inanely.  Did ask about the songs that I didn't recognize and yes they are new ones, and upon saying that I hope that it wouldn't be another 27 years before he'd release another CD, Bernie replied that he plans on another CD next year!
