I
am just blown away with how wonderful the Eagles
performed last night. Joe Walsh was excellent
and funny as $%#@. Glenn, Don and Tim were
playing excellent as well and moving all over
the stage. Nice dancin' Glenn!! What a horn
section! The newest guitarist they have is
wonderful. Keyboards were great too. A perfect
concert and they were very courteous to their
fans. I appreciate that. A class concert in
KC! I am so glad they came to Kansas City.
Thanks Guys!!!
Tammy's Review
The show was just incredible! I knew the Eagles
were going to be great in concert, I just didn't
know how great! They played for over 3 hours and
they still weren't able to give us all their
hits. It is really hard to believe all the songs
this group has under their belts. They sounded
awesome and you could see how much they really
loved performing.
I am a big Don Henley fan, but I became a fan
of them all, individually, after last night. It
was apparent to me that Joe Walsh truly loves to
still be up on stage performing. Thanks for
letting me share my thoughts with you.
Deb's Review
Well, I never thought I would sit down and write
up a review of an Eagle's Concert.
I thought a concert was a concert......nothing
different. I've been to the Moody Blues, the
Police, Phil Collins, Billy Joel, Alabama, and
Jimmy Buffet to name a few, but nothing like the
Eagles!
To give you a little background, I get on this
site for my mom, who is an avid Don Henley fan,
and now the Eagles number one fan 65 years old
to boot!) I print out all the tour reviews for
her.....so thought since I'm doing this for her,
I might as well go to one of their
concerts.....why not?
I kept looking at ticket prices on ticketmaster,
and ebay, among other sites, and they all were
asking too much, and always for two tickets. I
eventually went back on ticketmaster.com the day
before the concert in Kansas City, asked for the
best available seat......and got 10 rows back
from the stage for 146.00!
I booked it quickly.
I got to the arena early the day of the concert,
and watched the excitement build, as the time
drew nearer! I must say I even was getting into
the groove. When the concert was about to start,
I ran up to the front row, center, since there
were about six seats not filled.....and the
concert started. I was blown away!
Unbelievable, sheer excitement from the
crowd....and the Eagles sure belted out the
tunes! Eventually, I had to go back to my seat
10 rows back, but not before I had the eye
contact with Timothy B. Schmit (now I'm a fan
forever)! I, too, know the feeling my parents
have when they go to any of their concerts! They
played the full 3 hours, and did 5
encores! It seemed like they did not even want
to leave....but, alas, the evening was over. I
only wish they were on tour longer, and that I
could follow them from town to town. I'm hooked!

Review
As I set down to
type up this review I wondered what I could
possibly say about The Eagles Concert that
hasn't already been said. It was a wonderful,
great, awesome show-I guess you could say I
liked it :-) I knew that the concert would be
great because I have seen them before and the
majority of the concert reviews from others were
good. However something did happen to us to make
the concert even more enjoyable. When I got
online to purchase the tickets on the Internet
Pre-sale I was a little disappointed with the
seats that I got. The seats that I got were in
the section just above the floor. They were not
bad seats but I was really wanting to get seats
on the floor section (who wouldn't)??? I decided
to take the seats anyway. These seats were
better than the ones we had in Denver.
Finally the day of the concert arrived. My
husband and I drove into Kansas City, checked in
the hotel, got something to eat and took a drive
to Kemper Arena to scope out the place and check
on parking. While we were driving around the
arena we found the ticket office. We had
discussed on the drive to Kansas City about the
possibility of upgrading our tickets. My sweet
husband said "What ever you want to do is okay
with me." I had decided that I would only
upgrade if the seats were just too good to pass
up. I went up to the ticket office and asked the
guy "Do you have any seats available on the
floor?" He looked at me and smiled then said "I
have got 2 seats available on the front row." I
think I must have broken the record for whipping
out a credit card right then. I was on cloud
nine!!!
When we arrived at the arena we noticed that
there were a lot of people who had tickets to
sell. It seemed that our chance to unload our
one set of tickets were pretty slim. We decided
to take the loss and just go on in the arena.
Since we had got great seats I decided to try to
take my camera in. I didn't get to take it in so
my husband took it back to the car. On his way
back from the car he was able to sell the set of
tickets we had. We went in the arena and found
our seats and had another nice surprise. I
thought the seats we got were on the end of the
front row but it turns out that they weren't!!
The seats we had put us in front of Tim and
Glenn. Sorry that I am going on and on about
this but this kind of stuff never happens to me!
Now for the important part...The Show!! At 8:20
the lights go down and the guys come on. I just
couldn't believe that I was getting to see them
so up close. The set list was exactly the same
as it was for most of the other cities (no Seven
Bridges Road or Best of My Love for us either).
Glenn was the spokesman for the group and
welcomed us to their 30th anniversary concert.
Highlights of some of the songs performed:
Wasted Time....Don sounds so great on this song.
I wished that there wasn't so much hopping and
hollering by the crowd during this song because
Don is just so soulful on this song (maybe
that's why the crowd goes wild!) To just see his
expressions during this song was a treat! The
crowd literally yelled and cheered for a minute
during a pause in the song. Don stood there and
waited for it to quiet down; he even motioned
with his hand to hold it down. He finished the
song and the crowd went wild!
Take It to The Limit....I have to admit I am a
big fan of Randy's version but Glenn does a good
job on the song. He introduced the song as "a
song that Don and I wrote with Randy Meisner. It
also is how my wife feels about our credit
cards" which got a laugh. At least he doesn't do
the ex-wife jokes anymore thank goodness! It was
neat to hear the crowd sing with him!
Already Gone......this one was just a lot fun.
The crowd was into it and so was the band
especially during the "woohoohoo" parts.
You Belong to the City.....I have always liked
this song. I really liked it this time because
the keyboard that Glenn played was right in
front of my seat! He sat down and it was like he
was playing it for me. The guy sitting next to
me leaned over and said "aren't these great
seats??" I agreed with him totally! Tim was
helping Glenn on the vocals with this one. I
have to agree with other people that this seems
to be a hard song for Glenn to sing but he was
singing it to me (okay a girl can dream can't
she??) and to see his expressions on this song
is priceless.
Life's Been Good.....the crowd went wild when
this one started. Joe outdid himself on this.
His new lyrics were a riot and when he sang the
line "everyone says I'm cool" we all shouted
back "he's cool" it was just so much fun and you
could tell he was having a great time with the
song.
All She Wants to do is Dance.....I hope that if
they ever put out a DVD of their concerts they
get good close ups of Glenn dancing with the
Horn section. That is quite a show! You have to
see it to believe it; he goes wild-it was great!
Even Joe started dancing. Actually I noticed
Glenn doing some moves during other songs, I
think he was doing some footwork during Life in
the Fast Lane. Then Tim started following him.
It was neat.
Things that I noticed regarding the band were: I
was so impressed with Tim. He makes an effort to
acknowledge everyone in the audience. He walked
from one end of the stage to the other. He seems
like such a nice guy. Glenn is the greatest band
leader. He is so much fun to watch. His facial
expressions are the greatest. Plus you just got
to love his dancing! Joe was having the best
time playing. He looked like he was thoroughly
enjoying every minute of the concert. His
interaction with the audience is great. Joe and
Stuart Smith were really interacting with each
other-they played great. Don's voice was great
as always . He sounds so good. His interaction
with the crowd is somewhat limited when he's
playing drums but it is such a treat when he
comes down to sing or play guitar with the guys.
It was so good to see them playing and singing
so well and they just seemed to be enjoying it
so much. Before the end of the show Glenn
thanked everyone from coming. He told us how
much they appreciated their fans which is why
they have been working on a new studio album
that they hope to release next year or die
trying to get it finished. I know that we have
not heard the last from them.
At the end of the concert I was standing in the
corridor looking at the t-shirts, hats and
concert programs wondering if I should buy
something. I decided that I had the greatest
souvenir of all...my ticket stub to my front row
seat and all of the great memories of this
concert. If you have the opportunity to see them
do so! It is a treat!

Review
We had a fantastic
time. The show was better than Hell Freezes.
Don was a little raspy but got it going a
little later. The crowd was old but loud. Glen
kinda cut it loose a little and Timothy didn't
miss a beat. But lets all face it, I came to
see Joe Walsh. The man is flat out the best
axe grinder I have ever heard. He makes a
guitar hurt. Walk Away, Funk 49, Rocky
Mountain Way all turned it up a notch, and it
was the first time of many that I heard Life's
Been Good with a awesome horn section. I kept
a good eye and ear on Mr. Smith and he didn't
miss a beat except on I Cant Tell You Why and
Hotel California. That's the only two songs
that if you closed your eyes and listened, you
would notice that Felder wasn't on stage. I
did find out that Joe had hurt his back a
couple of shows before KC and that he was
traveling with and getting therapy from a back
cracker. He also said that after the tour he
and Glen would be doing a couple of gigs in
Vegas. Stay tuned for that one. I didn't hear
anybody complaining about prices except for
the people that were not going. I am also
quite sure that this was the best show to hit
KC in a long time, except when Joe played
Spirit Fest two years ago, that show was
amazing. Now I am very ready for the Tour next
year. I sold my Omaha and Iowa tickets very
easily on ebay and I am still kicking myself.
But because the shows were so close together I
just couldn't get the time off. These guys are
like fine wine, they get a little better as
the days go by. Couldn't get a better show. We
were headed to the Plaza after the show, but
everybody in the van were very exhausted and
just wanted to head for home. Turns out Mr.
Walsh spent a late night out down at the Plaza
after the show. DAMN!!!!!!!!
