Uncle Joe's Record Guide
Americans Volume 1
By: Joe Benson
Another great book by a
Los Angeles radio icon. Joe Benson has assembled a great
annotated discography of the Eagles records. A Great

treatments for other bands like the Allman
Brothers, Buffalo Springfield, CCR, CSN, The Doobie
Brothers, Doors, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
 |
 |
The Long Run
By: Marc Shapiro
While
on the surface it seems like an Eagles fan's dreams,
it's actually quite disappointing. Sloppily researched
and poorly written this "book" is nothing more than than
a regurgitation of magazine articles and a
misrepresentation of facts. Of course, we did buy a copy
and have looked at it. Tim fans report it has a great
photo of Tim as well
 |

Musicians
in Tune
By: Jenny Boyd
Besides being married to
some-time Henley drummer, Ian Wallace and being the
ex-wife of Mick Fleetwood, Jenny Boyd is also a
respected psychologist. This book is taken from her
doctoral thesis and explores the creative process. Don
Henley contributed heavily to this book as did folks
like Randy Newman, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, and
Eric Clapton. This is a must read for those interested
in just where those songs come from.
 |
 |

coffee-table book with tons of photos of Don's former

The
Book of Rock Lists

bachelors.

 |
Get
Hot or Go Home: The Making of a Nashville Star
By: Lisa Rebecca Gubernick
While this record
of what it takes to make it in Nashville is
interesting on its own merits, the stories Trisha
tells a bout her work with Henley are hysterical and
show what Don can be like in the studio.
 |
 |
The
Ecology of Commerce
By: Paul Hawken
The tome that
Henley seems to have gotten quite a few of his recent
ideas about sustainability. Provocative ideas. Scary
statistics. Henley thought this was such an important
book that when the hardcover went out of print, he
personally paid to have 5000 copies printed. It's now available
in paperback.

 |
Mid-Life
Confidential : The Rock Bottom Remainders Tour America
With Three Chords and an Attitude
By: Dave Marsh
The
story of what happens when writers decide to be rock
stars. The Remainders are a rock group comprised of
the likes of Dave Marsh, Stephen King, Amy Tan, and
Dave Barry. Their big mistake was inviting Don Henley
to critique their debut performance. The ramifications
of that are included in this hilarious account.

 |
State of the Arts
By: Barbara Isenberg
The author asked 50 people
associated with the arts in California to offer their

Are We There Yet?
A Modern American Family's Cross Country Adventure
By: Bill Lohmann
Great travelogue about
taking the family on the road to see a bit of America. The
author is a writer for a Richmond, VA newspaper and
self-avowed Eagles fan. There's a chapter in here about
visiting Winslow, Arizona. Henley is quoted. And....it
links to The Fastlane!!!!! When you purchase the book,
you are also entitled to download the completely
hyperlinked ebook edition.
