History of the Eagles Cross Promotion on Showtime

We heard whispers about this at Sundance, but it was announced today that to continue promoting The History of the Eagles on Showtime, each band member will appear in a Showtime originial series.  According to the Showtime website, members were tapped for the following roles:

  • On Shameless, Joe Walsh will play an addiction counselor that almost makes a breakthrough with Frank.
  • On Homeland, Don Henley will play a United States Senator with a secret.
  • On The Borgias, Timothy B. Schmit will guest as a Troubador who helps Lucrezia with her latest scheme.
  • On Californication, Glenn Frey will play a fictionalized version of himself. He'll be called in to help Hank with his latest musical project.

No word yet on when these episodes will air, but this would explain the reports we had a couple weeks ago that Don Henley was filming something near the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. Seems like a good reason NOT to cancel Showtime yet.
