Patrick's Review |
My wife and I saw you
guys play at the arena in Buffalo this past Tuesday,
stopping on our way to Niagara Falls. (We are from
Ohio).
Excellent show! Better than I could have hoped. We've
loved you guys since the old days, and you still have
it. Great side-men too.
The only disappointment for me was that Joe's guitar
should have been a little more above the mix during
his solos (may have been my location, though), and the
percussionist smoothed out the 'funk' in "Funk 49." (I
should mention that the guy was rock-solid, though,
and a damn good choice to fill in for Henley. I'd hate
to try to fill Jim Fox's AND Don's shoes!)
Pricey tickets and WELL WORTH IT! You guys did not
skimp and we fans appreciate it. Keep at it. |

My favorite part
was: the guitar solos, namely Joe's. There were a
few songs that I felt like snoozing through (going
from "Lyin' Eyes" right into "I Can't Tell You Why"
was hard. You're trying to get hyped back up from
the intermission, and that combination didn't help
the cause) but during the upbeat songs, the guitars
were amazing and brought you right back into the
show.
The band members
were: Right on target! They all sounded great, and
despite the reviews were they are described as "bobbleheads",
just simply standing and singing, they put on an
excellent show. If you want to see headless
chickens leaping around the stage, go to a heavy
metal show.
The show made me
feel: This was my first Eagles concert, and I have
never been a die-hard fan, but I would easily rank
this show in the top three concerts I have ever
seen. You get your money's worth, between the 30+
song set list, and the quality of their vocals.
(Only complaint - Glenn's "You Belong to the City".
What happened there? I am sure he was capable of
hitting the notes, but he sounded terrible)
One thing I'll
never forget is: Glenn Frey dedicating "Lyin' Eyes"
to "my first wife, Plaintiff".
Other comments: I
have to say, "Hole in the World" is the most
monotonous thing I have ever heard. I love their
harmonies, but wow. That song went on way too long.

I saw the show
in...Buffalo and I think I'm offering a different
perspective as I was not on the floor but up in the
three hundred level and relied on my eye sight, the
video screens and binoculars to see the show. It seems
most people have been able to shell out the bigger
bucks. I was able to do that with HFO because I was
single and I managed some kick ass seats back then.
Now I'm married with 2 young kids and the money isn't
there anymore but I always need to see the band when
they come around. I drove from London, Ontario to
Buffalo for the show since there was no Toronto or
Detroit shows. It was as always well worth the drive.
This was the first time my wife had seen the band and
she loved it.
My favorite part was... Don having to acknowledge his
birthday. L&M I couldn't tell if that was you or not
but who ever yelled it out did a great job as Don
actually had to smile.
My least favorite part was....The same as everyone
else. I don't understand people who pay good money to
see a show and won't shut the f%$k up during the show.
Also, "You belong to the city" was an embarrassment
for Glenn, but I guess he likes his voice during this
version
The band members were.....
Don was great but he sounded early on to have a sore
throat, however by the end of the show he was hitting
all the high notes with style.
Glenn was great and I thought (not including the You
belong to the city mess) was the better singer of the
night. He was consistent with all of his Eagles
classics.
Timothy was great as well. His voice hasn't changed in
25 years. Also, I think Buffalo was the most I had
ever heard him speak.
Joe ROCKS. Everytime he took the mic he gave the show
extra energy. I'm probably the first to complain about
this but I actually found the Helmet Cam annoying, but
I guess they felt the need to add something different.
I think I could have missed Turn to Stone. I would
have rather heard Ordinary Average Guy or Life of
Illusion.
Stu is great on guitar and I felt sorry for the
reaction he received from the bans. From where I was
sitting that wasn't "Stuuu" they were yelling.
The show made me feel like I hope there is a Farewell
2 or 3 and I hope to have the money to get back down
there on the floor in the front.
One thing I'll never forget is Joe and Glenn dancing.
Other comments to the girls in row 2 seats 8 thru 13
in sec 305....shut the hell up the next time you want
to see a show or stay home.

Tracy's Review |
Hi my name is Tracy, I
saw The Eagles show in Buffalo HSBC Arena July 22nd.
My least favorite part was "NOTHING". Once again, The
Eagles have beyond proved themselves to be the best
tour band in the world. Trust me, I have seen many
many concerts. A good example is, before 1994 Hell
Freezes Over Tour.. I had definitely seen The Rolling
Stones the most, seeing them in the area of maybe 15
times. Then came the Eagles, the first time I saw them
in concert, was the last time I wasted my time with
The Rolling Stones, sorry but they can not keep the
music sound. The clairity is missing. The Eagles were
already by far my most favorite band to listen to. But
unfortunately, like most people that were in my age
group, when they quit playing as a band, I was only in
my early teens and this meant I had to miss the chance
to "what I thought EVER see them in concert". So it
comes to no surprise that when they came in concert in
Toronto Ontario Canada in 1994 I was one of the first
in line to buy tickets. Truly, I would have paid $200.
for the tickets if they wanted it. I had already paid
$125. for The Stones and enjoyed them so it to me was
as if I was paying to see a stage performance, example
"The Phantom or Beauty and The Beast" I paid $150. to
see that and truly I figured I would be just as happy
in the end.
Okay my only complaint.. they did not or are not
coming back to Ontario/Canada from anything I have
seen so far. Last year, they did a tour in Alberta and
British Columbia and to my disappointment they did not
come to Ontario. But truly it did not matter I was
prepared to see them anywhere. But I could not tickets
anywhere.
Luckily for me this year my husband, who listens to a
Buffalo radio station heard 1 day before the concert,
that they were coming to Buffalo, and to my extreme
disbelief we actually were able to buy "EXCELLENT"
seats. I would have taken the worst seats if i had to.
I did not care one bit. Now I am praying that they
will come back again to Buffalo next year. As funny
thing, is I am closer to Buffalo (living in the
Niagara Region) I don't care about ticket costs.
Truly, if anyone would like to dispute the ticket
costs with me go for it. I truly believe that the
tickets were a great price and don't forget I had a
40% exchange rate to deal with. AS ORIGINALLY SAID
THEY SPOILED ME FOR ANY OTHER BANDS. The Eagles
performance is like as if I took my DVD of Hell
Freezes Over and put it on and sat and watched it in
my living room. The sound was INCREDIBLE and so were
their voices. I always believed that Don Henley and
Glenn Frey were always able to sing as if it was
yesterday (1970+ and better) but truthfully, never
under estimate the voices of Joe Walsh and Timothy B.
Schmit, they both have incredible vocals and can truly
carry a tune that makes me feel as if I just put them
on a CD to listen to them.
The show made me feel ENRICHED, and EXTREMELY
ENTERTAINED and never ever disappointed. Another thing
is true and may sound funny but, seeing them in
Buffalo instead of Toronto, meant that we had access
to having a beer or liquor drink any time we wanted so
we had the feeling of being in our favorite bar
watching them play. (TORONTO treats you like a child)
and if they at least even serve beer, your limited.
One thing I'll never forget is DON HENLEY played in a
concert on his birthday. That was an incredible treat.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON HENLEY and thank you so much for
spending it with around 40,000 of your truly happy
fans. People there, not just one or two, but you could
hear at certain points the entire crowd sing along to
all of the music. New and old tunes.
I truly hope that they play again next year in Buffalo
HSBC Arena, because as lots of other people did, I
will be happy to bring my children 10, 13 and 15. Who
were truly disappointed that they had to miss seeing
the band that I have had playing in my home since
before they were born, the band that I would rock them
to sleep singing along to their songs, and the band
that still today they enjoy hearing play over and
over. They would have truly had the time of their
lives.
Do I feel that I spent too much money ($175.00 per
ticket U.S. = well over $500.00 Canadian total). NO...
it was a treat especially considering that they played
30+ songs (sorry I lost track) 3+ encores. YES they
did spoil me for seeing other bands. But that is due
to their ability to put out perfection in every song
that they sang. I am a truly satisfied fan and would
see them again tomorrow if I was able. If I could
figure how I would attach the write up on the concert
in the Buffalo News, I would. The reporter who saw
them, felt the same as me, as did the hundreds of fans
I heard talking as we left the show.
The Eagles put on a show that I will not forget as
until Tuesday I still had held strong in my mind the
1994 concert. The Eagles are an encredible band. In
fact I would dispute anyone who thinks that they would
not have topped The Beatles, or at least given them a
run for their money, had they have both played at the
same time.

Brad's Review |
The show was great...
everything I expected and more!
Loved the solo tunes - Don Henley's "Boys of Summers"
was one of my favorates... man, he can belt it out for
a 56 year old - he never faltered all night.
I was disappointed with "You Belong to the City",
Glenn was really struggling to hit those high notes,
but he sure made up for it in "Heartache Tonight"...
that got everybody up and movin'.
And when Timothy sang "I Can't Tell You Why" - wow...
that sounded fantastic... brought me back to the 7th
grade school dance - it sent chills down my spine.
Lots of Joe's tunes as well... "In the City" was
awesome! He seems like a very strange man...
The Eagles have always been one of my favorite
bands... I grew-up as a youngster in the 70's
listening to their music on the radio - the first
record I purchased was Hotel California.
I am so grateful for having the opportunity of seeing
one the the greatest bands of all time perform live.
Thanks for the memories guys... see you on Farewell 2.

Ali's Review |
WOW! This was my third show in the past two tours
and it was by far the most enjoyable. No drunken
idiots, no chatty
kathy’s, just a
section full of Eagles fans wanting to take in every
moment. The sound was unbelievable. I was in the
cheap seats and heard every word and every note like
I was sitting in my living room. It
was huge difference from
the Cincy show (which
was still high quality). I drove up from Columbus
Ohio and I’ve got to say that
Buffalonians know how to rock! And we got
one hell of a show to enjoy.
I
thought the band seemed pretty loose and happy.
Glenn sounded terrific…One request, let’s drop “You
belong..” Bring back “Ol’
55” or “Good Day in Hell.” Otherwise, he sounded
better than ever! Don was incredible, as always.
For those who haven’t seen it, “Wasted Time” is
worth the price of admission. Timothy was great, as
usual. Then, there was Joe. I absolutely love
going to a show with people who haven’t seen the
band on the past two tours and seeing their faces as
he blows the roof off of the arena. He stole the
show once again. Those solos in “Turn to Stone” and
“You Belong” are terrific. I hope that when (and
if) a DVD comes out, they
capture the energy that he creates.
I
left the show feeling the exact same way that I did
the previous two times…Extremely satisfied and eager
to see them again! What a show!
