Well, I waited about 30
years to see the Eagles and it finally came true. I
was worried a little that they might have lost a step
or two, but was completely blown away by their awesome
and inspiring performance. I have been a fan for a
long time and never had a chance to see them in their
prime. I was living in Mountain Home, Idaho at the Air
Force Base where my father was stationed. At that time
('72-'77) the Eagles did not visit the interior of the
Gem state. Unfortunately, by the time I moved away
from home and lived near a large venue, they split up.
I was furious and depressed. The greatest band of the
70s I had waited to see decided to call it quits
without asking me first. When they got back together
to do Hell Freezes Over, there was a glimmer of hope
that I might see them perform. Only one problem, I was
living in Germany at that time. I was in the Air Force
myself in '95. I thought they might come to Europe,
but to no avail. If they did, I never heard where or
when? Then in 2002 I hear that they are going on tour,
but don't exactly know when. I was again getting my
hopes up. I am glad I did because the show I saw last
night was worth the $100 plus I paid! It was a long
time coming and was the best birthday present I have
had in awhile!
I am 42 and as I get older I have learned to
appreciate the good things in life and to revel in
them for as long as possible. Listening to the Eagles
last night transported me back when I was a young man
when I took a lot of things for granted. It felt so
good to feel that way again! I am still blown away by
how music makes me feel and how it sweeps me to a
higher place. Last night was no exception. Finally, my
hat is off to all the guys (Don, Glen, Joe and Tim).
It takes a lot of courage and conviction to go back
and do something you did when you were young. After
listening to them perform at Tampa, I don't think they
have anything to worry about. Classic Rock is here to
stay!

I've never been to an Eagles' concert before, my being
17 doesn't allow me to have been around long enough.
But i don't expect a show could've been better even in
the days of old. It leaves you with a surreal feeling,
knowing that you are seeing the people that, so far,
have been faceless voiceless coming out of speakers.
But this show left me feeling lighter than air. The
harmonies were very on, and everyone seemed energetic
during the Long Run. They seemed to be a little
unenthusiastic for a good while though, that is until
Joe get the party started all over again. Life's Been
Good sent the crowd into a frenzy. There were some
less than appealing parts to the show though, but not
on the Eagles' part. There was a fellow to our left
who apparently had a strong dislike for President
Bush. After the first set, he could be heard and seen
walking up and down his row screaming, "I don't like
Bush! I don't like Bush!" Finally he was ushered off
and returned later, beer in hand, only to run up and
down the isle a while later dancing and carrying on.
And of course, there has to be the drunk girl at every
concert that is loud and obnoxious. Screaming a
gurgled scream, alone, in the middle of songs she had
no business screaming in. But, like Joe Walsh says, I
can't complain but sometimes i still do. TBS threw out
several guitar picks at the end of the show and walked
off waving at everyone. It was awesome to see some of
the same guitars that they used during HFO. Timothy's
white Carvin bass, and Glenn's Black Les Paul. All in
all it was an awesome show, something I'll remember
for the rest of my life, and probably after I'm dead.
I will definitely go again should the chance ever
arise. I hope there really is a Farewell 12 like Glenn
joked about. |

OMG, Where do i begin?
First ill start with the worst part of my trip-When
we got back to our hotel, the fire alarm kept going
off and aggravated all the patrons. This was at
12:30 am. The show started at 8:15 and ended at
11:35 with a break after One of these nights. I had
last row seats in the first section (seating chart
was not very accurate). The new song was in the
first set in place of Pretty maids all in a row.
After the second set I noticed people easing their
way towards the front of the stage. So i tried it
too, with much success!!!!!!!!!!!! I was about 30
feet from TBS the whole time with a mass of fans in
the center isle. I could look directly into there
faces, being that close!!! I even got to dance with
a few very attractive ladies there. The performance
was very record like without the add-ons usually
done to spice them up. Joe stole the show as far as
I'm concerned. His personality shines through and
everybody waved to the cam in his yellow hardhat. I
didn't hear no vocal straining, it was very
tight!!! Most everybody was standing up during most
the songs and us cutting up in the center isle. They
used Tampa in the lyrics of The Long Run and
mentioned the Tampa Bay Bucs Championship. It was
total electricity for me and for all who was
there!!! I'm ready for Farewell 2!!!

What
a marvelous show in Tampa tonight! From Long Run all
the way through to Desperado, it was just fabulous.
Hole in the World has been moved to the first set. It
was really great live. The audience really seemed to
like it. Don remarked how they weren't going to do
anything new, and then they changed their minds.
Hah! Wonder why? We know! No Pretty Maids, but I
think the rest of the set list was the same as the
other shows. The show started at around 8:15 and ended
around 11:35.
All the guys seemed to be in great moods and laughing
and joking with each other. Not much dialog, but the
plaintiff joke from Glenn was still included before
Lyin' Eyes. There were screens for the side stage
and one big screen over the front middle of the
stage. The Forum is quite a large venue, and our
friend who had nosebleed seats toward the back, said
she really couldn't see the screen too well. We
couldn't see any screens from the front row, but what
we could see of the video highlights on the screens
behind the stage seemed to add a lot to the show.
Joe's hardhat camera went over really well also, as
did everything Joe did. He seems to be doing more of
the heavy guitar work this year but seems more reigned
in. Steuart was fantastic as usual. He has such a
good time with Joe. I didn't hear any sound problems
at all, but at one point Glenn had some amp problems
and had a momentary fit. And yes Carol, Al was
superb, as always.
Now on to wardrobe and the like. As for the all
important wedding band count, for those who care-Glenn
on, Don off. Don has really lost the weight and his
hair is very flattering longer. He wore a chambray
shirt that looked great, and of course his black jeans
and boots. Joe is a lot slimmer than last year also.
He had on a sweatshirt and Adidas pants and his hair
is a lot longer. Only Glenn wore a jacket, but he did
have on jeans. Yeah! Maybe that means no more light
blue prom suits. Tim had on a gray shirt and black
pants. He really made an effort to wave at everybody
when he was leaving the stage. He's so cute. And
then there is of course, the lovely Scott Crago and
his leather pants! Need I say more?
The people on either side of us were at their first
Eagles concert so it was exciting to here their
comments. They were totally blown away.
I'm glad the Eagles finally came to see me in my
hometown. It's about time after I've traveled all
over the country to see them. <G> They certainly made
a good impression on Tampa-St Pete while they were
here.
