Desiree's Review |

My name is Desiree and I
saw the Eagles on Fri. the 8th in San Diego. It was a
great show. It is hard to pick a favorite part of the
show, but I really loved it when Glen started dancing
around during All She Wants To Do Is Dance. I had
never seen him so animated. In fact he really seemed
to be laughing and enjoying himself the whole night.
Don's voice was great, and Joe was his usual funny
self. He joked about only having until midnight to
decide if he should run for Governor. I don't have a
least favorite part. The only thing I would maybe
change is the order of some of the songs. The
transition from fast to slow seemed a little harsh a
few times. They all gave me the feeling that they were
happy to be there, and that they were having a good
time too. It was a good audience, almost a sell out,
lots of dancing and singing, and very few left before
the encores. A really WONDERFUL night. |

Dustin's Review |
My name is Dustin. I saw
the show last night in Chula Vista, CA. I can't find
words that could adequately describe last night's
performance. Awesome, spectacular, outstanding are all
understatements. These guys pulled out all of the
stops. The jumbo screens, the sound quality, their
singing, it was all first-rate. Let me tell you a
little about the evening.
The temperature at Coors was about 70 degrees. The
moon was bright and the stars were shining, both on
stage and in the sky. The show started about 15
minutes late. A behind-the-scenes video, similar to
the one on the "Hole in the World" DVD, opened the
show. After the video, the stage went pitch black. You
could hear Scott Crago counting off with the
drumsticks and the lights came on and "Long Run" was
blaring from the speakers. The guys looked great. Don
was in all black. Glenn and Timothy were wearing what
looked like black blazers and Levis. Joe was wearing a
black top and his trademark camouflage pants. Steuart
was wearing gray pants and shirt.
The set list was the same as it had been for the
previous shows. After "Long Run", Glenn explained the
title for the current tour came about while planning
"Farewell 6" for 2009. He quipped that he and Don
thought that they better start with "Farewell 1"
first. All of the guys seemed to be in great moods,
laughing and joking around. At one point, when all
four were on guitar, they were jumping up and down in
unison. Probably the funniest part was Glenn's dancing
during "All She Wants to do is Dance." The new single,
"Hole in the World", was very well received. It has
been getting lots of airplay here in San Diego since
it's release. Before "Love Will Keep us Alive",
Timothy acknowledged his uncle, who was a career Navy
man and San Diego resident, and his cousin, who just
got back from Kuwait.
The best part of the evening was the guys'
performance. Every one was on fire. Don's drumming,
especially on "James Dean", was hot. At 56, he drums
better that most of these punk kids today. And Joe, he
really is the show stealer. His helmet cam is
hilarious. All of the singing was top notch. Don only
missed once on a high note on "Wasted Time." Which
reminds me, the little photo clips during "Wasted Time
Reprise" was cool.
I honestly can't think of a bad part to the evening. I
guess I would like to see them incorporate Steuart a
little more. He was getting a lot of applause and is
an awesome guitar player. He fits in very well with
all of them, especially Joe. On "Hotel California" he
was flawless. That's saying alot considering the shoes
that he is filling. I hope that before they tour to
promote the new album, he becomes an official Eagle.
He is definitely earning his wings.
The merchandise was cool. Lot's of stuff to choose
from. Great looking leather jacket and fleece jacket,
too. The program is way cool. Ended up coming home
with 3 t-shirts, a program and a key chain. I heard
people bitching about the price of merchandise, but
you know what, it's a concert, expect it! Take some
advice from Don and Glenn and "Get Over It!"
Anyway, the show lasted about 3 hours and 15 minutes.
It ended way too soon. Can't wait for "Farewell II"
when the new album is released. Hope everyone else who
went to the Chula Vista show or any of the others, has
as great an evening as I did. Keep up the good work
guys!!! |

Ken's Review |
The first time I saw The
Eagles was may 5th 1975 in the Kent State University
Gym with Dan Fogelberg as the opening act. I was
hooked for life after that. One side note , they
played the CSN&Y song Ohio that evening. This is now
the 7th time that I have seen them and even though I
hate the fact that Felder is not in the band anymore
it was the best show ever. I saw them on New Years Eve
1999 in LA at Staples which was a great show but this
was the absolute best. Henley's voice gets better and
stronger with age. I was surprised with all the Walsh
songs but obviously delighted with his song
selections. Everything he did just rocked. The fan cam
was pretty cool. I always expect perfection with
Henley and he delivered as always. The band was as
sound as ever it was just incredible. They played 29
songs compared to 31 during that New Years Eve show
but everyone was superb. I could write a list of 29
other song and it would be fabulous. The horn section
really gave the show a added boost that just made it
that much better. You can always say that they didn't
play this or that but if they did it would be a 6 hour
show. However it would be a bonus to hear Seven
Bridges Road just because you don't hear very often
and was never on a studio album although it was on the
live album.
My favorite part was the entire show, they are best
band all time from the USA hands down my favorite
along with the Beatles. The best line of the night was
when Frey said "Lying Eyes" was dedicated to his
ex-wife.
No least favorite part of the show is that it ended.
The show made me fell 20 years old again. I will see
these guys for as long as play or I die first.
The band looked great, in a festive mood, Walsh was as
good as ever, Frey was awesome and sounded great. I am
biased because I miss Meisner and all his songs but
Timothy is always good and sounded great. Henley is
Henley, a perfectionist and gets better with age.
If someone who saw this show and didn't think it was
incredible - then there not an Eagles fan.

Brian's Review |
After watching the
Eagles played nearly 3 hours at San Diego, you can
tell that
not only they are great musicians, but also they have
met the standards for
being professional. They gave us all they've got!
Without a doubt, these guys
definitely wanted the fans to have a nice memory and a
great time. The band did
a great job by playing their well-known songs from the
70's, some solos from the
80's, and a new single in 03'. Don, Glenn, and Timothy
had their voices as clear
as they could be, and Joe had reached his vocal peak.
While Glenn said that the
band had planned for their Farewell Tour 6 in the year
of 2009, Joe was saying
that he could still decide if he would like to run for
the governor for the
state of California before midnight.
The show was nearly perfect. The lights were cool, the
video shots were
excellent, and the stage setting was just
unbelievable. It's never enough and no
one wanted the show to end so quickly. "Nobody wants
to go home now, there's too
much going on". From the beginning of "Long Run" until
the end of "Desperado",
we all stood up and sang along with the Eagles.
However, at certain point of the
show where the music was too loud that we couldn't
really hear what the lyrics
was. Plus, people sit behind us was just kept
screaming about how they were
crazy about Don and Glenn.
Since 3 out of 4 Eagles lives in California, friends
and families members of the
Eagles showed up in the concert. Songwriter Jack
Tempchin who wrote Peaceful
Easy Feeling and co-wrote Already Gone was in the
crow, where Glenn's wife Cindy
and Timothy's uncle also attended the show.
If you had the opportunity to attend an Eagles
concert, you will be able to
admire and appreciate their efforts and talents. By
watching the Eagles play on
stage made us all want to be musicians, at least once
in our lifetime. The only
thing that I was disappointed was Don did not sing my
favorite Henley song "The
Heart of the Matter". Although Don made some commons
about maybe it's not
rewarding for doing the tour for him because he
couldn't be with his families,
but please, please, please feed us with your music,
your lyrics, and your voice.
All the fans need your supports, as well as from
Glenn, Joe, and Timothy. So,
please plan more dates in Southern California in the
"Farewell 2" tour!
