Dan: Fan Review

My name is Dan Henry and I traveled from Seattle to see the Eagles in Denver.  The best part of the show aside from the outstanding music was the bands interaction with the fans. I last saw them in Portland last year and this seems to be a new feature this year.  Don and Glenn both were both joking and seemed to be having a great time.

I thought Don Henley put on a tremendous performance.  I would say the song I enjoyed the most was Hotel California followed closely by their new song Hole in the World.  Don kind of explained the background on how their Hole in the World song was written which I found to be interesting.       Joe had on an interesting red suit and later in the concert wore a camera cam construction hat.  That hat really seemed to get the crowd going.  I hope to be able to see them again in August.  It was like a real party with everyone dancing and singing in the crowd.

It was kind of expensive but I thought with the graphics and all things considered it was worth the money.  The list of songs listed was pretty accurate.  Overall I would rate this the best concert I have ever seen.  Hopefully their final tour will continue for many years and they will have more hits in the future.

My favorite part was... Don Henley singing Wasted Time, Joe on Rocky Mountain Way, the SOUND SYSTEM-AWESOME!!!

My least favorite part was.... Glenn doing 'You Belong to the City'. This is a tired song, and wasn't even performed well. You could barely hear Glenn through most of the song. He seemed to be whispering...
The band members were..... Ummm... If you don't know this, why are you on this site???

The show made me feel..... stupid for missing them the last time they came through Denver
One thing I'll never forget is..... Joe in his flashy red suit

Other comments ....... I wish they would have featured Don a bit more. In my opinion, he is the biggest talent in the band, and by far the best singer... The only song he could really show his talent on in this concert was Wasted Time, which was the best performance all night. I would have loved to see him singing "The Last Resort" or "Heart of the Matter"... Replace Glenn's song with one of those, and you've got an even more impressive concert!!!! If that's possible...

My favorite part was...when the band was goofing around--Glenn dancing to "All She Wants To Do Is Dance", the guys bouncing around together when they were all on guitar, etc.  I really like to see them looking like they are having fun and enjoying their jobs.

My least favorite part was....the massive amounts of guitars solos in the second half.  I know I'm in the minority here but I enjoy the singing more than the guitars.

The band members were.....acting a little run down.  I was wondering why it seemed as if there were so many guitar solos going on but I figured it out when I realized that this was the last show before a little break. I wish I could have seen them at the start of the tour.

One thing I'll never forget is.....like the previous reviewer, I loved Joe's zoot suit.  Timothy's question asking if it came in RED was hilarious.  They definitely need to keep him around to keep the band from getting too serious!

Other comments  .......Don's voice seemed a little scratchy at first but it warmed up and was great the rest of the night.  Glenn's and Joe's voices seemed weaker, like they needed a rest.  Timothy's voice was as great as ever.  I truly hope they give him the opportunity to do more lead vocals on the new album.  All in all it was a good time but I can't count this as my favorite concert.  That still is my first concert which was the first millennium show at Mandalay Bay.  (But isn't your first always your best? ;-) )

My favorite part was... Of course when Timothy had 2 guitar pics sent over to me

My least favorite part was....How fast it was over

The band members were..... Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit

The show made me feel..... incredibly energetic

One thing I'll never forget is..... During All She Wants To Do Is Dance, Joe Walsh came to the left side of the stage with Timothy. He pointed to the shirts and banner we were wearing in honor of Timothy. They both smiled and waved. And then Joe broke into the funniest dance.

Other comments .......From The Long Run to Desperado, it was an evening like I've never seen. I don't think I've ever seen them play to the audience the way they did. Lots of interaction between the band and fans. I really liked Glenn's You Belong To The City. Combined with Al's sax and Timothy's backing vocals, it was almost sensual. Don Henley positively took my breath away. I have never heard Wasted Time or Desperado sound so good. The longer he held a note, the louder the crowd got. Joe Walsh can't help but get your attention. From the moment he walked on stage in that bright red zoot suit, to the final encore, he was great. I especially liked the way Timothy and Glenn would jump and freeze in the position they landed during Funk 49. The entire band seems to really get into Joe's songs. Timothy looked like he stepped right out of the Farewell 1 tourbook, his shirt, light blue jeans and black boots were picture perfect. He sang his songs flawlessly. Stuart Smith was fantastic. He really got into his playing. This is by far the best money ever spent, and I will gladly do it again. I flew in from Calif. for this show. I hope they announce the LA dates soon. This was definitely worth repeating.

Your Name: Jean from Washington

I saw the show in...Denver

My favorite part was.... When they messed up on our tickets and we got to sit in the fourth row on the floor. The energy throughout the whole performance, I couldn't help myself but dance and sing with the band.

My least favorite part was....Not getting a guitar pick

The band members were.....  oh so fine, better than in pictures.

The show made me feel..... That's the point, the whole performance made you feel alive. The band gave so much energy and heart throughout the whole three plus hours it was contagious. I was exhausted from singing and dancing and I can't imagine how tired the band must of felt.

One thing I'll never forget is.....the smile on Don Henley's face when the band was cutting up, and Joe Walsh's connection with his guitar during the whole night's performance.

Other comments This is the best concert I have ever been too. I got my money's worth and more. I kept looking around the Pepsi Center and watching as almost 15 thousand fans were dancing, singing and jumping with the band. That to me was amazing. The music pulled you from your seat and inspired you to remember when you were 20+ and could dance for hours. It was just plain fun, and I am looking forward to going to a performance in California in August.

In a word: OUTSTANDING! The Denver concert was by far one of the best concerts that I have had the pleasure of attending. I was gratefully surprised at receiving the tickets the day of the concert, having believed that the St. Louis concert would be my last chance to see the show. While our seats weren't nearly as close as the our first Farewell concert, we were able to see the band from a different perspective and therefore able to watch the great interaction with the fans. Glenn explained that at one point all of the Eagles had lived in Colorado. Don explained that they'd try their best to sing all of the hits, but that it was a little harder at 8,000 feet. Glenn added that Denver was only 5,000 feet, but the band was 3,000 feet high on its own. (Don apologized and said he thought they were playing in Aspen. J)

The guys were much more dynamic and entertaining than they had been only a few months earlier in St. Louis. There was a great deal more interaction and they delivered all of the songs with precision and enthusiasm. "Hole in the World" was met with great satisfaction, proving the reason that the song continues to climb the charts. I was especially impressed (again) with Don's "Wasted Time" and "One of these Nights". Glenn did superbly on "Take it Easy", "Already Gone," and "Heartache Tonight" (although I miss Glenn's "alright, nighty-night" and "break my heart" fade-outs from studio versions). Glenn didn't hold back any of his jokes, including the normal accolade of "Take it to the Limit" to his wife (this time, adding a long-time friend), and the dedication of "Lying Eyes" to his first ex -- plaintiff. Timothy held his own with the crowd favorite, "I can t tell you why." The crowd was especially energized by Joe's red suit and strong performance; he stole the show throughout the evening (although it was difficult to steal my attention from Glenn's jeans and blue button-up shirt heavenly!!!).

During the break, I waited for a friend in the hospitality room and watched the different friends/visitors of the Eagles parade backstage. The guys really keep busy throughout the entire show, on and off stage. There didn't seem to be much time for an intermission/break for the band. With three + hours of being "on", it's amazing to see what these guys continue to be capable of producing.

This was by far one of the best concerts I've been able to attend. The music was at its very best and the energy level of the crowd and the band was especially high. The only disappointment of the evening was realizing that this will probably be the last show I see this year. Hopefully the guys will say Farewell a few more times.

I just want to say, WOW! I saw The Eagles here in Denver, Colorado, on June 24th. As always, they blew me away! My seats were side stage, and you got a "behind the scenes" look at the stage. As a fellow musician (singer), I was in awe. They sounded so tight, musically and I really enjoyed how they "funked" up some of the songs. It made them sound so cool. I have never heard them sound so tight, vocally, either. They were right-on with eachother and it was amazing. I wanted to be on that stage with them, singing. That would be such an incredible experience. I'm not sure what my favorite part was. Maybe the Joe Walsh cam, or the high energy, or the funky groove, or just the whole experience. As always, they blew me away. Come back to Denver soon, boys!

Thank you for yet, another, great, musical experience. I can't wait for the new album to come out...sometime. (ha ha)
