We knew this
was possible because the X-Files people do it
all the time. We just never realized that it
would work for the Eagles as well. Whenever
there's publicity to do with local TV stations
the people who are being interviewed sit in a
room and "hook up" with the local stations who
want to talk with them. These interviews are
thrown up on a satellite, and apparently, if you
have a dish, you can tune into these things.
Some person did just that the day the Eagles did
all their local press for the upcoming tour. He
was nice enough to put the tape of it up on
eBay. We've got two hours of Eagles interviews.
Glenn and Timothy pulled the first shift and Joe
and Don did the last part. All in all, it's
interviews with about 13 different stations.
Now granted, all of it starts to sound the same,
but it's a great look at the band. You really
get to see a lot of their personality! Aside
from the couple of comments Henley makes about
fans being confused by new songs and being
Internet pirates, they are funny, witty and a
joy to watch.
Oh yeah,
there's some info on there about the tour and
album.
Here's what we
gleaned:
1. The
band is doing these small dates so people won't
have to travel very far to see them (obviously,
they don't understand their fans <G>)
2. The
band is in the middle of a three year plan which
started with the European tour. The plan
includes the new album and then a major world
tour next summer.
3.
Depending on who you talk to, the band may or
may not do new songs. Glenn says they will
decide what sounds good live during rehearsals.
Henley says no way (because of the Internet
Pirates).
4. Just from
the way they talk, the shows won't be much
different than the European/Denver/Dallas shows
last summer.
5. They are
very proud of their horn section!
We're going to
put these clips up bit by bit because we think
they would swamp the server. There's also an
interesting part when the lights go out and
Glenn and Tim are just themselves. We're not
going to put all of that up, because the guys
probably didn't know their mics were still on
and it just wouldn't be right, but we'll try to
edit out some cute stuff.
