Here's what TV Guide had to say about S.O.S. in its Fall Preview issue in 1993.

Stars: Glenn Frey, Maria Pitillo, Aries Spears

Premise: A TV version of "48 HRS": A white Los Angeles private eye (Frey) hooks up with an exuberant black kid (Spears). Pitillo plays an aspiring actress who daylights as Frey's secretary.

Strong Point: Nice to have a private-eye show back on TV

Weak Point: No pilot was available, so it's too early to judge. But the competition is tough: Home Improvement.

Bottom Line: Could be a welcome relief from the glut of sitcoms.
