Have you ever looked
at the Eagles' debut album and wondered what the heck is going on in that photo of them by
the fire? With Under the Covers the mystery is solved! This unique CD-Rom features
the amazing archives of artist Gary Burden and photographer Henry Diltz. Diltz was
responsible for the Eagles and Desperado album covers. We had the opportunity to meet Mr.
Diltz this summer and he is a generous and gracious man. His home is full of some of the
most famous photographs in rock and roll history. To sit there and hold contact sheets
featuring some of the most well-known photo shoots in Eagles history is an experience we
won't soon forget. We thank Mr. Diltz for sharing.
Under
the Covers has been made into a television movie and DVD.
The DVD is currently only available when you buy a JVC DVD
player, but it should be released sometime in April. The
television special aired on TLC and is a humorous and
interesting look into the making of several album covers.
Eagles fans will be happy to see video footage of the peyote
party in Joshua Tree, the band cavorting on Joe's boat,
interviews with Henley and Frey and some really cool info
about the design of the album covers for Eagles and Desperado.
We encourage any Eagles fan to get the DVD as soon as it is
available. Until then, we highly recommend the the CD-Rom
version. You can order
it directly from Henry
Ditz's web site. Also note that Henry sells prints of a
few of his famous Eagles photos at his site as well.
In an attempt
to further convince you that you NEED the Under the
Covers DVD (when it becomes commercially available) and the
CD-Rom (there are different interview bits....you'd need
them both to get it all), we present some photo and video
out-takes. This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks....you
really do need to get your hands on your own personal copy.
You won't regret it. |
